    I found this book, with a dust jacket, for $3.75.  Was that a good deal, or what??  I had been looking at thriftstores, book sales, amazon, etc., and as I walked in a skimmed the travel area, voila, it was there.  I’ve read a bit and am in love with his writing…so sweet and directed toward the child.  Am I right??  Can’t wait for my dc to read it.

    Speaking of, is there an age range for this book??  I don’t think there is as it says for boys and girls and adults, etc, but just curious as to what ages you would use this for.  Is my up and coming 9th grader to old for it??

    Thanks in advance.

    What a blessing! I wanted to buy this a while back but it was just too expensive. I don’t know age range but AO had book two scheduled in Year 5. As advanced as AO is I think that should be fine. I’ll hand my 13 yo books that may be on the young side if its quality she hasn’t read yet and I want her to:) Some books are just ageless!

    Congrats! I have two copies plus The Orient. They are treasures and timeless as far as I’m concerned. Be on the lookout for his other books as well. Sorry…always one more book, isn’t there? 🙂

    Way to go I paid way more for my copies but it just felt right at the time.  My son LOVED them.

    I know, I’m super excited!! When I opened the cover, I was expecting to see $10, so $3.75 was a huge surprise…I held on to it tight…better believe it!

    My oldest ds read the first page, to the reader, and is looking forward to reading it…the pictures are amazing.

    Wow, GREAT price!  I was just looking at Amazon this morning for the Halliburton books – minimum $30 each.  I keep hoping I will get lucky at a yard sale or book sale sometime….

    Keep looking. I found one of my copies for a quarter! (Don’t ask what I paid for the other one…)

    I was lucky last year and got mine through my library inter-loan system for free. It had been in their book sale three times and no one wanted it. They were just glad to give it to some one who wanted it. 🙂

    @Kristen,

    That’s kind of sad that such a good book could be passed up by other people and that the library was just glad to get rid of itUndecided.

    Well, I’m glad that it’s in good hands in your home schoolLaughing.

    Yes, unfortunately our library system is always getting rid of treasures to make way for more twaddle or worse. Btw, we love this book.

    You know you are the daughter of a comic book collector when you see this and automatically think of Marvel comics….Tongue out.   Now I’m off to figure out what you all are talking about since I’m sure it isn’t comic books!
