I am looking into using the SCM Modules of Early Modern and Modern for American History with my upcoming 10th grader and 7th grader. Is it possible to complete both of these in one year?

While I am in Texas and have no strict guidelines for required courses, I am using the public school course schedule as a guide.

I have been bouncing all over the place trying to find a fit for our style and keep coming back to the SCM site for help. I might as well just dive in with it and go for it, right? Mind you, I have been homeschooling for 5 years now and every year I look at the SCM site.

Finding a family learning style is what I am longing for now as working independently for my children is just not showing progress at all.

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you want a full year American History only course, you would be doing that half of Early Modern and Modern Times.  (Each one is half American and half world history.)

That’s what I was thinking. I don’t think you could possibly do all the American and World for both and retain anything, it would be too much too fast. But you could do a year of just American and a year of just World.

Are the modules divided out or would I need to preview/plan a bit more?

I have never used any of the SCM Modules. Thank you all for your help and guidance!! It is very much appreciated!!

American history is scheduled on Monday and Tuesday, geography on Wed., and world history on Thursday and Friday. So it would be very easy to do.
