CM "tests", how'd she do it?

  • I just finished reading Hours in the Out of Doors today and had a question…..

    At the end of the book there are some examples of test questions from Charlotte’s schools. Some of them were answered by children as young as 6 years old so I am wondering how exactly that worked. Did Charlotte or one of the teachers just write down the children’s answers, short of like a dictated narration? How many test questions would she ask and how often? (I have young children so am asking from that perspective.)

    Hmmm, this makes me all the more anxious to get to reading the originals series myself so I will be able to answer questions like this :o)

    I’m not sure one of your questions was covered in that blog article: yes, in grades 1-3 the teacher would write the student’s exam answers as the student dictated them.
