This is a question to all those out there who are using the CM organizer on this site. I am organizationally-challenged, and I looked at the organizer on-line, and it looks great! I’m wondering how user friendly it is, and how it has worked for anyone in the long run! The only thing holding me back is the money, so I want to make sure I will use it to its fullest potential, and that it will be worth my investment. Thanks, Faith 🙂

As the queen of disorganization and millisecond attention span, I can tell you this works! I’ve tried numerous spread sheets, programs, index cards systems, etc., but when I came across this one, it worked for me immediately! After 20+ years in front of a computer (happy SAHM now) the quicker I get away from this box the better. It was super easy to set up and even easier to maintain. I am very satisfied with it.

There are a few issues on the “wish list” that I am eagerly looking forward to that will smooth out a few things, but even as is, it’s been well worth the investment. My 5-year old checked off our work today…ha! Now this is MY kinda program! (And their tech support is fabulous…thanks Sonya!)

For the first time in my 6 homeschooling years, I’ve got accurate records! (And it takes me 5 minutes or less a day to upkeep).

I think my favorite part though, is that it follows my life and not the calendar. If I don’t get it all done, it just picks up where we left off with no readjusting.

Give the 30-day trial a whirl. I think you’ll like it!

I’m with gr8tfulCMmom! I have not been using the organizer for long (I’m in my free trial right now, but I am certain that this will be my Christmas present to myself! 🙂 I have five kids, three of whom are school age. I took a day or so to enter in the resources that I want to use for the year and set up a schedule for each of these kids. Daily, I’ve been adding other things that I might want to fit to the schedule. This is the greatest thing since chocolate!!! If my resources weren’t in the bookfinder, I could add the resource to my account and add divisions as necessary (chapter, lesson, etc). This takes less time to set up than any other program out there for lesson planning. I love the ideas on the wishlist and look forward to them also. I am just so pleased to have something to help track our progress. It has been hard for me in the past to keep track of what we have done, and this is going to make such a difference when it comes to evaluations at the end of the year.

    Best of luck!

I just signed up for the CM Organizer 30-day trial. I cannot find any information on how to insert various student names into the program. All it allows me to do is to click on “Family” when I am adding a resource. Please help! I am looking forward to using this fabulous program.

springhillacademy, go to Account (upper right corner of the screen) and click Student Information. You should be able to enter your student names there.

We did our Organizer trial last spring and signed up for this school year, and I am thankful for the Organizer every single day! It is easy to use, easy to set up the school year, soooo easy to record what we have done! I was gone on Friday, and my dh, who NEVER stays home and does school with the children, could easily use the system to see what the kids were supposed to do, supervise, and record. He said it was easy! I used to spend 2+ hours a week planning, entering into a computer program, printing off assignment sheets–now I check off what’s been done, the older kids check their daily assignments, I do it for the little guy, and then it takes me a couple of minutes to record what we did! I had always been intimidated before in trying to make up my own Charlotte-Mason style curriculum, because it seemed easier to use another place where everything was broken down for me, but the Organizer makes it so easy to customize exactly the books I want for each child. It has really made a difference in our school year. All ten thumbs up in our household. 🙂

I haven’t signed onto the cm org. yet but am intrigued. Could someone please give me some more detail on how it works?

Rachel, you might find these demo movies helpful in getting a little overview of the CM Organizer.

I wanted to mention that I absolutely love the SCM organizer. I signed up for the 30 day trial to see if I would actually use it and I do!

I’ve never used any organizer successfully for this long. It is incredibly easy to use. Even if I miss a day or so, it’s very easy to go back and catch-up.

When I first heard about this, I couldn’t see spending the money every month, but it is totally worth it.
