Ralph Moody’s Little Britches series was recommended to my home school for the specific character building challenges of my adopted children (as well as bio children). In the Little Britches series, what is the order?  Is the first book “Father and I were Ranchers“?

Do any of you have an online used book resource? I found the above mentioned books at The Rainbow Resource Center but they are $11-$12 each.  (On ebay they are the same price or more.)

What are other recommended living books for character building, both read alouds and self reads, for ages 12 and up?  (Please note read aloud or self read preference.)

Thanks so much for your time and wisdom.

We got the audio from our library and listened to them.  Here is the list: http://www.readaloud.com/britches.html

I buy almost all of our books from http://www.abebooks.com. I pay an average of $4 per book, with free shipping. It’s a life-saver!

If I have many to buy, like over 4, I buy from http://www.Betterworldbooks.com on one of their sales. They have many sales throughout the year like 5 for $12, free shipping. That is the best I’ve gotten them for. They add tax, but still the best price for used online at $2.60 each shipped. More often it is 4 for $12 like they have right now.

Have you seen the list here for Personal Development? http://simplycharlottemason.com/planning/curriculum-guide/old-scmguide/personaldev/

    That is what I use.
