Does anyone have any cd suggestions for helping in learning hymns?  My husband and I are not very musical so we can’t learn them (or teach our children) from reading music.  I would love any suggestions of beautiful cds that would have more traditional arrangements of the hymns.  Thanks so much!

I would suggest Hymns for a kids (maybe child’s) heart series. It comes with cd & book that has hymn background story and the music.

I’ve used this set for years: 100 Hymns and Praise Classics. You can get the individual CDs as 25 Hymns and Praise Classics, or this compilation. Looks like the mp3 price is a great bargain.

You might consider making a copy of the gyms from a hymnal even though you don’t read music. You may be surprised at how much you can learn by observation while singing along with the CDs. And, you have have a musical child that would benefit from following along with the music.

    Just a thought,
