I’m looking for a free site to listen to music from the various composers we’ll be studying this year (I plan to use SCM’ list for Module 6 but I could change that plan if different composers would work better for this plan).  Anyone using something like this?  I tried Googling and I’m sure it’s there…but can anyone save me an hour of surfing?!

Ok, I was there a bit ago.  I’ll check it out further with different composers.  I was trying Telemann and it seemed like there was only one or two songs and then it went to “similar” composers.  And that could still be ok…we can just adjust our plan if need be.  Thank you!

    Anyone/anything else?

Another good place to check is YouTube. Lots of orchestras put up video performing works by different composers.

And Classics for Kids has all the Module 6 composers except Foster. Here is their page listed in alphabetical order: http://www.classicsforkids.com/composers/composers_atoz.asp

And here is their main page:

You can find any of the classical stations via Live 365.

Another great learning site, this month it’s Telemann: http://www.classicsforkids.com/

Thank you gals!  Rachel, how do you use the live365 site?   Just listen whenever?  Or can you select a composer or songs to listen to?

Tristan, i’m going to try youtube now.  I bookmarked the other one.  Great day to you all!

Now I just stumbled onto this and it looks like it would be a good one too!  This is the Telemann page.  http://www.allmusic.com/album/the-best-of-telemann-mw0001381495 I just googled best of Telemann to find a song or two to find on youtube…and found this first!  Now on to youtube…

I use Live 365 via my Roku, but I’ve done it on the computer, too, You have to create a Log-In and then you can look

up what type of music you want to listen to and then it will give you online stations to choose from; some to pay a membership to and others not.

I listen to Relaxing Classics, Fine Classics, as well as Medieval music, early American music (pre-War Between the States), Renaissance station, Celtic stations, Bluegrass stations, Messianic music and others.
