    Hi there,

I confess: I am one of those people that still claims to hate math. I was never good at it, never enjoyed it, never much saw the need beyond basic arithmetic — and I was homeschooled! It wasn’t until I started homeschooling myself 7 or 8 years ago that I encountered the idea of math as a way to encounter God’s truth and beauty.

I’m still wrapping my mind around this and am looking for a good “mother culture” book to help me see the beauty of math. Any recommendations?

Hi Brianna. Revealing Arithmetic by Katherine Loop. This book really, really showed me God’s glory in math.  She teaches math from a Christian worldview. It is great, and you don’t need to understand any math at all to appreciate its beauty. It really showed me how math reveals the mind and attributes of God.

It isn’t a book but I really have been enjoying how James Tanton teaches his Geometry Great Course’s lecture.
