I thought I’d start a new thread for this one; hope you don’t mind. We had a discussion on this a few months ago. It’s here (I wish I new how to attach links to words…can someone give a tutorial on that?) – –

I’m 49. Our youngest is 3 and our oldest is 20. One thing I’ve learned is that it is so easy to get the little ones caught up in the busyness of the older ones as they get more involved in outside activities, yet do not yet drive. I’ve begun to say no to many opportunities, believing that God orders our family and so that will be best for us all, not just the littles.

I’ve also noticed that it is tempting to lower the standard for the younger ones, just because mom’s tired. I remember, however, the verse that says, “remember that from which you have fallen.” That encourages me to maintain my health and continue learning new and better ways to nurture my children. I want them to have the same standard of excellence and joy in learning that the older ones had.

This may have been more than you were referring to, sorry; it’s a subject dear to my heart as we continue to strive to raise up a generation that honors God.

    Blessings,

    Cindy
