Has anyone gone through this study in one year? We used the old two year study for all of our children. I purchased this new guide for our now 16yo and I think it’s still an incredible amount of reading for one school year, even if it is both history and literature. It’s over 6,000 pages of reading! Opinions? Thank you!

    Blessings,

I know this is a few weeks old, but I wanted to comment.  I just purchased the new guide (I have the older one but thought the new one would help move us along quicker).  There is definitely a lot of meat in the guide!  I love it compared to the older guide.  However, I don’t plan to cover everything; I am going to use it loosely as a guide, choosing some of the books, not all, and adapting as needed.  We may only do 1-2 books for literary analysis and not count the literature credit.  In fact, we may choose to watch a movie rather than read the book simply because I don’t think we are going to be able to cover everything in a year and my son will be graduating.  I also wanted to try to slip in economics and government in there as well–not sure how or if I’ll be able to but that is my plan.  Good luck with your year!
