This is the year that could fit into our rotations to do a study of cultures and countries.  I am considering using pieces of Around the World in 180 Days.  Has anyone here used it and would you mind giving me your thoughts on it?

Next year my younger two would go back to the modules, starting over again at Module !

I have no information on the source you referenced, but will tell you I got my hands on the new book by Jamie Martin titled Give Your Child the World and it’s a gem!  It’s a geography book list divided up by continents and I will be using it as a springboard for my boys this school year.  This might be something useful to your family too and it’s super inexpensive.

Yes, MelissaB, Give Your Child the World is a great resource. I am excited to read many of her suggestions this year. We will use this resource and Around the World to study maps, basic info., and cultural studies for many countries this year.  It feels good to take a break from chronological history and I am excited for the girls to study these other places and peoples.

Library trips, documentaries, new foods, music, and art.  Can’t wait.
