our 14 yo boy is doing physical science this year, and I divided the pages needed to complete by school days and came up with 4 pages, 4 days a week not including experiments. He does the experiments 1 day a week. He does all his work independently and we come together at 7-8 pm each night to review his science lapbook and math lesson for the day. I do feel that the lapbook wasn’t entirely necessary as 90% of the questions are the same ones stated in the textbook just with lines for answers. For next year, I’d just order the textbook with answer key. I’m now remembering, in the back of the lapbook, for each module, there is a comprehension fill in the blank, anti-CM, way of study in the back. Some people may think it’s great, but I simply get living books from our library that coordinate with each topic in the text and ask for an oral or written narration. He also, sometimes is asked to read these living books to his younger siblings, 10 and 7. My family really loves science! I also, got this for $10 at a sale minus the lapbook!
Blessings for a rich year of teaching.
