I’m wondering if any of you have used Covenant Eyes and could tell me what you think of it…..

    Thanks!

Our family used Covenant Eyes, but now we use Safe Eyes. With Covenant Eyes you get accountablity reports sent to an accountablity partner. Our needs were for filtering and not the accountablity reports so much. We switched over to Safe Eyes because covenant eyes would stop our internet connection whenever we were checking our yahoo mail, but that could have been fixed by fixing the filtering settings at covenant eyes website. Covenant Eyes was frustrating us though when we couldn’t even access Liberty Online (Christian University Website for online college classes). Safe Eyes is filtering great, blocks sites like you-tube (if i want to watch a video clip I can log in and disable safe eyes for a moment, as the administrator with the password, and inappropiate content that may be on a page. My dh wanted to have safe filtering on our internet to protect our family when we are online. If we were having addiction issues I would use Covenant Eyes over Safe Eyes, but since we just want basic internet protection Safe Eyes is easier for our family needs.

When were you using Covenant Eyes? Their site allows you to subscribe to accountability or filtering or both. According to what I looked at, the user can choose the level of filtering.

Is Safe Eyes similar in cost to Covenant Eyes? I think I would prefer something monthly, and I definitely need something that will stop certain sites. Accountability is good for older kids and adults, but I don’t necessarily want my dc searching for something and then asking me “What does (insert nasty term here) mean?” Or, to get curious about something in search results and decide to click on it. 12yo ds is allowed to watch his older stepbrother play all sorts of violent games with inappropriately dressed ladies over at his dad’s, so he wants to look for war games to play here at home.

We use Covenant Eyes and have for years. A report gets sent tome and a pastor friend. It has been good for us. More specific questions?

I just wanted to say we have Safe Eyes on our computers since August and I love it.  It’s very user friendly and easy to set up.

We’ve used Safe Eyes for the past 2 years and for the $50 a year, its been well worth it. I coudn’t imagine having the internet without it – very helpful, especially with dangers of the web and protecting growing young men in the home.

Thank you for your feedback!  In our Pastors newsletter, he had mentioned “Safe Eyes” and “Adblock”.  We currently installed “Covenant Eyes” two months ago, but “Safe Eyes” is what we should have purchased.
