Does anyone subscribe to this and if so, is it worth the money? I cant find any info on amazon about how it all works. Do you get one book at a time? How long do you keep it? Is there a limit to how many you get per month, week, whatever? What about the student subscription? Does homeschool qualify? Any help??

I have regular Amazon Prime which costs $79/yr. I honestly love it. For me, it’s worth the, price. I love having orders in 2 days, but also love the movie portion too (similar to netflix). For the Kindle book borrowing, you can get one book per month, but you can keep any book for as long as you’d like. If you want a new book when the next month rolls around, you have to return the prior book first. Not sure about the student subscription.

We’ve had it for 2 or 3 years.  LOVE IT.  You can order just one item and not have to meet the $25 minimum for free shipping.  Like Melissa said, stuff gets here in 2 days.  Totally saves my bacon when I forgot to get something we need for school or around Christmas time.  We use the Instant Videos for school (and recreation) a lot.  I don’t do much book checking out, because honestly I forget about it, but yes, one book a month, return the one you have before you get the next one.  I do wish they’d offer more, but they’d lose money since so many of us are fast readers!

We like it two. I buy everything on Amazon! I love the reviews, fast shipping, and no minimum purchase for 2 day shipping. The Prime movies are nice too. Didn’t even know about the book checkout system. I’ll have to look into that.

Yes we have it…and we love it.  Once you try it you will never go back!  My favorite thing has to be the free 2 day shipping.  I buy a ton of stuff off of Amzon and love that it arrives in 2 days with free shipping!  We stream shows to our kindles/computer and rent books sometimes, too.

We just finished our 30 day free trial and after the first 2 weeks knew we were keeping it 🙂 For all of the reasons mentioned above.

Is the shipping free even when the order ships from a different seller who sells on Amazon?  I learned the hard way that I need to check who the seller is and then meet the $25 minimum from each seller if I want free shipping.

    Love it here, too!

No orders from other sellers most often do NOT ship free. If free it will say prime or fulfilled by amazon. My rule of thumb for buying new with free prime shipping versus used and paying 3.99 – if the used + shipping is less than the new price, I buy it. I’ve bought many books for pennies plus 3.99 and still saved a bundle.

Love Amazon Prime!! A few years ago I dragged all the kids to Target to buy a birthday present for a party we were attending. I had a specific present in mind, which they didn’t have. It took me an hour with four kids to find a gift I was OK with. And that’s the thing, I was just OK with it. I came home and told DH that Amazon Prime actually saves me time, money, and hassle. I could have ordered *exactly* what I wanted on Amazon for less money than I spent, and it would have taken me 5 minutes as opposed to two hours.

I look at it as a $6/month convenience fee. Actually we have another birthday party this weekend, and I was able to order items specifically catered to the child’s interests for a very reasonable price.

We have it and love it. Very often my orders come in one day! I live in a very small town … no bookshops nearby, itty bitty library … we use it for books as well as all sorts of home things. Money well spent for us.

I have the student prime and love it. I order from Amazon all the time. The free two day shipping is amazing. It seems the one thing that all of us homeschool moms have in common is….we can’t wait to get our books! A lot of times when I order books, they arrive the very next day using Prime. It is awesome. The prime membership doesn’t work on just books either. I usually find everything I am looking for birthdays and Christmas without having to hassle with Walmart or the malls. It truly is convenient, fast and hassle-free. Returns are a breeze too if needed.

The best part is the student prime membership only costs $39.00 a year instead of $79.00 for the regulary prime.

What’s the difference in the benefits fo Student Prime and regular prime?

There are no differences that I know of. To be a member os student prime, my husband had to sign up using his student email address given to him through the college. Once signed up, Amazon sent an email to verify that the email address was his and that it was valid. Thats it! I have been able to purchase and do everything with the student prime that was available as a regular prime member. We can stream movies with our prime membership too just like with the regular prime.

Since my daughter is still in high school I wonder if the student price would apply to her or if its just college. I guess I need to find out. Actually my husband is fixing to start college also so that would work too. 🙂
