Can anyone suggest some different choices for picture books to go along with Visits to South America?  Our library doesn’t carry a single one of them (and charges for interlibrary loans, so that’s not a good option either).  I don’t want to have to spend $40-$50 to get the picture books, on top of $30 for Material World and Hungry Planet.  Perhaps I should just use it for map drills and skip the literature aspect all together.

I found material world and hungry planet used from abe books, thrift books, ebay, or better world books….check amazon too. Then get your favorite or cheapest few additional picture books.
