I am trying to locate the best-unabridged, hardcover version of all of Aesop’s Fables for a keepsake so my kids may have it on their bookshelf to read as they choose. Is there a best collectible version, that you know of personally, out there with quality illustration, but most importantly, written in its original form? There are too many versions out there, and I don’t know how to tell them apart. The reviews are mixed.

Well I dont have a hard cover, and not sure if it includes “all” of Aesops fables, but I have a beautiful version illustrated by Milo Winters that we absolutely love. The language is beautiful and the illustrations lovely. Not sure what you mean by “its original form” as they would have been in Greek. The version I have is an unabridged republication of a 1919 version, so preserves a more formal language. Dover publishes it now.
