Top Ten SCM Blog Posts from 2008

Top ten

It’s January — a great time for looking back and looking ahead. We thought a fun way to look back would be to review our most popular posts for 2008. Perhaps you missed one of these topics or will find encouragement in reading them again. Either way, we hope you enjoy them.

We had the privilege of hosting a narration edition of the Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival, which turned out to be our most popular post for 2008. Many authors contributed to the great collection of examples, ideas, and tips for narrating that we titled The Art of Narrating. A big thanks to everyone who participated in Charlotte Mason Blog Carnivals!

A Good Airing, another Blog Carnival post, came in at number two with wonderful encouragement on the subject of Mother Culture to refocus, refresh, and revitalize you during the winter months.

Planning was a hot topic in 2008 with numbers three through eight all coming from our nine-week planning series titled Planning Your Charlotte Mason Education. The series covered five simple steps to creating a custom plan and schedule for your home school. We also launched our Planning Your CM Education book and DVD to help walk you through the planning process step by step.

Another post that received a lot of traffic, number nine on the list, was A Project Week Idea. It described a fun variation on the traditional school year calendar — a variation that our family has used and enjoyed for many years.

And the number ten spot was from our six-week series on habit training. Why Nagging Doesn’t Work gave a very practical answer to this common question and prompted lots of moms to change their approach for the better.

We’re excited to begin the new year! We look forward to giving you new blog posts that encourage you, providing new books that help you, implementing new features on the CM Organizer, and meeting new friends (and old) at homeschooling conferences in the upcoming months.
