Handicrafts Made Simple DVD and booklet

I don’t know about you, but for me the two biggest challenges of teaching handicrafts are (1) not knowing how to do the craft myself and (2) coming up with projects. Despite my noticeable lack of “craftyness,” my oldest daughter Rebekah has become quite skilled in several handicrafts and has taught several children (and adults) how to sew and crochet and spin yarn and dye yarn and create props from cardboard and knit . . . .

So I asked Rebekah if she would be willing to share her knowledge and creativity to help make handicrafts a little simpler for Charlotte Mason homeschool moms, and she said yes. The result is the Handicrafts Made Simple DVD series.

Handicrafts Made Simple

These first three DVDs in the series focus on hand sewing, crochet, and cardboard & paper crafts. Each DVD comes with eight episodes that will take you all the way from collecting easy-to-find supplies to creating several useful projects.

Rebekah will walk you through the process step by step, and you can watch her close-up demonstrations as many times as you want until you feel confident enough to try it on your own.

The accompanying booklet includes extra tips and ideas, as well as more details for the steps. It also gives you a suggested 12-week schedule to help you focus on one handicraft per school term, if that’s what you want to do.

Best of all, Handicrafts Made Simple takes the pressure off you. Now it doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to do a certain handicraft; you can watch and learn together. Plus, you don’t have to come up with projects and figure out what supplies you’ll need. The projects in Handicrafts Made Simple are designed to be practical and useful for both boys and girls, younger and older. And a complete list of supplies is provided for you.

We’re happy to be able to make this resource available just in time for the winter months. Go ahead and add handicrafts to your school schedule. Now it’s easy with Handicrafts Made Simple!
