I am looking for a good typing program. I saw someone recommended Mavis Beacon but some of the reviews are not so good (although I know it can be the case for anything!)
We did the BBC danse mat typing, need something a little more advanced. for a 9 and 11 years old.

We like Typing Instructor Deluxe. I bought it from Timberdoodle.
We use Typing Island. It is a cd-rom. It might be twaddlish, but it gets the job done and keeps them engaged.
Oh and I found a wonderful site on-line for free, also at BBC. We use it as well.

They also have a timed test section, which I use from time to time myself to check my WPM. :)

I also like Typing Instructor Delux as do my children who happily now go and do typing. Even more than the 15 min I ask of them a day! :0)

I am wondering what the difference is between Typing Instructor Deluxe and Typing Instructor for Kids. I was given Typing Instructor for kids, but haven't used it yet. Is the other one much advanced?

Here is another option for you. This is the one I plan on using with the kids this coming school year.
