Yeah, that was really the scarry thing – this person from the Government (Education Dept) honestly thinks that the schools “co-parent”… and I wonder how long it will be until they think they are the parent and we are just the biological creators of the children….

We have registered as homeschoolers, and I always do the required reports.  From advice I’ve seen, I give as few details as possible (but document like crazy uncase we ever need to defend ourselves).  I believe in following the law.  That said, it would make it very difficult to later homeschool underground because they know we exist.  Of course, I wouldn’t want to deal with Truant Officers now if we hadn’t registered….  and yes, Truant Officers DO exist.

Here is a clip from the 70’s show bewitched about Tabatha being forced to go to school.  (there is only 1 instance of magic in this part of the show..)  It makes me shake my head…  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwUIlaqAfwE

    Ha ha, a funny example….on a serious issue…thanks.

Loved it! “We don’t want Tabitha to become dependent” the teacher says! And it will be troubling psychologically! if her mom stays in the classroom!

Yep, the govenment knows what is best for our kids! Away from home and mom so we can brainwash them! (I know not all PS are that way) just trying to make a point!

@Sue, I am Canadian and I can tell you, no it is NOT illegal to own registered firearms. Which makes this incident even MORE ridiculous! Because it is not even illegal to own a firearm to begin with. If it was endangering the child by being left out, etc. they may have grounds for something like “child endangerment” or something of that sort, but there was NO cause for arrest in this situation as they did not have evidence of ANY POSSIBLE wrongdoing on this dad’s part because they had not even spoken to him or his wife as of yet. The police should not have even been inolved at all!
