    Hi there,

I’m just about done planning our school year, and I need some direction for Personal Development.  I have scheduled Wisdom with the Millers (btw, we used Missionary Stories with the Millers this year and my daughter-8- loved it, so we’re excited to be using this resource.), but Wisdom only has 25 chapters, and I have them scheduled once per week for 2 out of three terms (with just a couple chapters left over)- that leaves our third term empty in the Personal Development “box”.  Does anyone have a suggestions for what I might use for that last term?  Would one of the Character books from 1st or 2nd grade be appropriate? (We’re new to SCM, and haven’t used them before…)  Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! OR has anyone used the book all year?  If so, how did you schedule it? I mentioned that my daughter loved Missionary Stories with the Millers; she always wanted me to read more than what was scheduled, so I’m pretty sure we’ll move through this one as I’ve scheduled it…BUT, I’m all ears!

    Thanks!

PS I also have a 4 year old daughter listening in…

When we went through Wisdom and the Millers, we also memorized the Scripture verses from Proverbs that were highlighted in the stories. So if you wanted to stretch out the chapters a little more, you could insert a Scripture memory day in between them.

    Just an idea. Smile

    Sonya,

I think we’ll try that, then if we run short at the end of the year, I bet I can find something to fill in.  Thanks for your response.Smile

Please don’t feel like you must have a PD resource going every week all year round. It’s okay to hit one resource during the year, then lay off and give time for pondering and application. In PD especially, quality is more important than quantity.
