We'll more than likely be starting with SCM in the fall with my five yr old daughter. I'm wondering if there are any other families in Alberta who are following this method? I'd love to chat!

Welcome! We are in Alberta. I have three. Dd almost 10, ds 7 and dd 5. My youngest will be starting year 1 next school year. It's nice to know that another CMer has joined the rankes here in Alberta!

4myboys - Don't know... maybe I sound like one! (I was born and raised there.... lol)
My dh doesn't want me to share my location for security reasons.... so I'm from Canada... a few people know more, but not many, and not on a totally open board.

Ooo Ooo. Pick me. I'm in Edmonton. If you are anywhere close, we have a yahoo group, CMEdmonton. We get together for park days and a monthly CM Moms evening. We are studying CM's books together.

Joanne - stop making me want to move back to Edmonton!!! It can't happen anytime soon... and we certainly don't have any CM type group here.....

I will not! I totally want you to move back, so I'll keep providing any motivation I can. I can always hope can't I?

Well, as I've told you.... all you need to do is find my dh a great job, with good pay, with a company that will pay the moving expenses..... and we are THERE.

Aww...we're not by Edmonton. And so far, the only group out here is a general homeschool group (mostly doing field trips or classes for older children), and Classical Conversations is gaining ground here. How nice though, to have a CM group! Who knows...maybe it will gain in popularity here too.
