After much investigation and tweaking of the site, I am happy to (cautiously) announce that I think we may have fixed the problem with logging in and posting that some of you experienced. You may need to log in again now but you should then stay logged in for at least a week from your last use of the forum. If there is still a problem then you may need to also clear your browser cookies this one time.

Thanks to everyone for their patience and supplying good information to help us track down the problem.

Please let us know how it goes. Thanks.

Everything seems to be working here again!  Thanks for all the hard work!  It’s funny how hard it is to have been unable to respond easily for a little bit–I really count on the adult conversation here!  Laughing

I hate to be the bearer of bad news…….  I cleared my cookies, I re-logged in, and….  still had to do a forced refresh.  Cry  <sigh>  I hate technology…

Well, Sara, if you’ve been a member of this forum less than 3 years, you have to “pay your dues,” and page refreshes are just part of the initiation…..of course, if you’ve been here less than a year, like me, it’s even tougher. Every time I login, I have to sing the national anthem…..of Wales!

    Just kidding,

    Sue

(“Oh, land of my fathers, the land of the free….the home of the telyn, so soothing to me….thy noble defenders were gallant and brave….for freedom their heart’s life they gave….”)

Sara, What browser and version are you using?

Sue, Is it still giving you trouble too? (And yes, thanks for the comic relief.)

I still have to alt and refresh to get on – but it is ok…I did clear cookies and temp files and everything. Linda

    @Doug,

No, it has been fine for me.  I just like singing the national anthem of Wales….and I’m not even Welsh! Laughing

That is because it is a great tune and a great anthem – I am English and not Welsh either, but I appreciate a good tune.  Linda

    Doug,

I’m still having to refresh the page. I use Mozilla Firefox browser.

Still force refreshing tonight.  I am using Mozilla Firefox 4.0.1 (and I even knew where to find that info!  LOL).  I know they recently had an update, like maybe early last week?  And it seemed right around the time they did that I started having issues.  But others have said that it’s happened to them with Google Chrome, too, correct?  So maybe it’s not FF’s fault.

Still having problems?  I came to the site, went into the forum, logged on, went to read my private messages and when I clicked to come back to the forum I was logged back off?  Misty

OK just noticed this also Doug, when I’m on the main forum page it appears I’m not logged in  but once I go into a thread like this one I am logged in.  Also, once I hit send it comes up here and I can see it when I come in but it doesn’t jump up to the top of the threads on the forum main page?

Misty, that happens to me all the time.  I just force refresh it, and there it is.  It is definitely very random for what pages/threads I will be logged on or not.  It’ll switch in the same session for the same thread even (I’ll be on the main forum page, click on a thread, go back to the main page, and then back to the same thread – sometimes I’ll still be logged in, other times not – whether I’ve visited other threads between or not).
