Does anyone have a good program they could direct me to for a bright fourth grader to learn French? I speak some French myself (I was in French Immersion for three years) but definitely need a decent curriculum to follow, as I am terribly rusty.

I'm curious about this one, too. I'm considering First Start French and The Easy French.
I like the First Step series for German, and the first lesson in French looked good too...

Gaeleen, thank you for posting this question my DD is in 4th gr too and the program our library offered online is not available now. So with Suzukimom's recommendation we can still study. Thank you Suzukimom for the link.

This is not a curriculum suggestion, but i just wanted to add that i recently hired a very sweet college student whose degree was in French. She just plays games, sings songs, and introduces basic stuff right now. my kids are learning a lot in just a few months time. If you have a college in your town, consider calling the language department for recommendations on anyone interested in tutoring your kids in your home.

Thanks all for the great suggestions. I looked at the samples for First Start French and I think we'll go with that. I think I 'll feel comfortable enough with the tutoring aspect, once I have a few simple books in front of me. I'm going to check out the websites the next time we are at the library - our dial-up is too slow!
