I appreciate knowing that there is a praying group that I can call upon. If you remember during your prayer time, would you ask that God would lead us to the right home for our family. We are moving in about 5 weeks. My DH will be finishing school and has a job lined up about 3 hours from here. I have been looking online and while there are some decent looking houses, they are not what we really want. We want to get out of town and have at least a couple of acres. We want room for a farm and would like to get some chickens. We would like to bring our dog and cat. We want room for the girls to be outside and ride bikes and play without being in the road. We have lived on 90+ acres since DD8 was about 1 1/2 y/o until the last year and a half. We have now been in town for most of the last year and a half while DH finishes school. We were hoping to move home when school was done, but God has other plans for now. It has been hard on DD8 to be in town and I really don't want to end up in town again. DH can not get away to go and look for housing so my Dad is going to meet me there and help me look sometime next week or the next. Thanks so much. I know there are many things that need prayed about, and those with health issues seem so much more important, but I am thankful that we serve a God that even cares about the seemingly little things of our life.

MemberI'll pray for you. We were in a similar situation two years ago, except we moved over 1,000 miles. We weren't able to find the type of housing we were hoping for, so now we are living in a "temporary" house and praying to be able to find something else in the next two years or so. It has been a real lesson for me in thanking God for what He provides and finding joy in it even when it isn't my ideal. I'm thankful that your dh was able to find a job and I'll pray that the housing details will fall into place also.

MemberThanks for the prayers. We did find a place. Not so thrilled with the house, but it will be warm and dry and is heated with a wood stove - I love wood heat! We chose it for the property. It is 2+ acres with a 60x80 fenced garden with drip system. On its own well and septic. Has a chicken house and large fenced yard for the chickens. It's on the end of the road with nothing to one side. The road checked out with the police station as being a safe and quiet area.

MemberThat's great that you found a place! I just love chickens! What kind are you planning on getting? My kids favorites are their Silkies. They are like little puppy dogs. If you have never had them you need to get at least one or two. They are a conversation starter for sure! :) Everyone always wants one once they see them and how tame and gentle they are. My son was pulling one of them around on the sled last year and the chicken loved it. :) They carry them everywhere. They even put them in their wagon and pull them around the yard. I am addicted to them. Sorry I just get so excited when someone mentions Chickens. I know, I know I am so addicted! :)

MemberCongratulations on your new home - I hope it is all you dreamed of. It sounds perfect - and as long as the house is sound, it does not matter if it is not perfect, you can turn it into the home of your dreams over time.
