We have been slack with doing a BOC for history this year because my son shows no interests in it really. I think we are gonna wait till we start the modules over and he’s older too he can start his own BOC. I ordered the wall timelines and stickers by history odyssey for us to work on even though it’s late in the school year for us. Anyone else use these timelines? It seems really easy and doable for our first few years of homeschooling. Would it hurt to back track and put our stickers on from previous history lessons?

Caycecronk – you should just start where you are. If you go back, chances are it will overwhelm both of you and you won’t even start it. Then it will get you feeling guilty and steal the joy and fun out of it.  As you rotate back through the history cycles, you can add them in then. He’ll still make connections. Promise! =)

    Sheraz,

Definately don’t need anything more to overwhelm us! We are trying to get our work done by June to take the summer off. Gotta try to get the joy back…..because it seems we have lost it in the business! I think these timelines are beautiful and hopefully it will inspire the both of us!

We have a History Odyssey Timeline, and love it 🙂 I laminated mine at Mardel. If you have one close, it’s the cheapest place to laminate that I’ve found. I made our figures this year, and attach them with velcro dots. The kids have a timeline that they do themselves, but I like having these on the wall. It’s nice seeing history as a whole. We’ve added a lot to it since this picture.

Oh, woops! Sorry that picture is so big! I can’t figure out a way to make it smaller.

    Salt earth,

Wow, that looks great. I’ve already ordered the stickers but I love how you did your figures. Where’ did you find such awesome figures? Are you using the history curriculum too by odyssey or just the timelines?

Am looking at some options for laminating! It is expensive!

I did SOTW for 1st grade, and we are doing HOD Bigger Hearts this year. I made the timeline figures this year. Someone else made the timeline figures for ancients. When I printed the ancient figures, I adjusted them to be smaller, so they would fit on the timeline. I posted both here:

Mardel lamination is 25 cents a foot. It’s way more at any of the office stores. I think it might have been 3 or 4 bucks to laminate all four of the timelines.

Man, it might even be worth driving to a Mardel’s – Staples has it for $2.00 a foot, both across and down, so a regular size poster is $16!  Yikes…

    saltvearth,

We have an educational wonderland here! I will check the price with them and if not will look for a Mardels even though I don’t think there is one around here! Thanks!

    Sheraz,

The two office supply places I have checked has been expensive too! Gonna keep looking for a good deal and see if there is a Mardels anywhere around!
