Has anyone seen "Courageous" yet? DH and I went last night, and it is fantastic! It is a very heavy and emotional movie, but it has a great message for fathers. I cried a lot throughout the movie starting from the first scene. I thought it was pretty cool they made a point of bringing out that one of the families homeschooled their kids b/c they wanted their children to have a solid foundation. If you haven't seen "Courageous" yet I highly recommend it!

I am glad it has been so successful, more movies like this are needed, and obviously lots of people are going to see it...we are going this week. Linda

DH and I would love to see this as a date night movie . . . but don't currently have a babysitter. Guess I need to work on that sooner rather than later! :-)

My husband and 16yo ds are going out for an evening together next week, and plan on seeing Courageous. Sadly, I have to wait until it comes out on DVD - can't wait. If its anything like Facing the Giants or Fireproof, it'll be great! Thanks for the reviews!

My husband and I saw it together and both cried like babies! I am so happy it is doing so well in the box office. too. I must say that I saw a few "dad groups" seeing it together but in my opinion it is definitely a movie for husbands and wives to see together. Though it is an encouragement for husbands and fathers, it's not a "macho movie" for guys. It's all about a man's commitment to his family. I recommend wives seeing it with their husbands.

I thought the same thing, Britney. I originally thought maybe my DH would see it with friends, but I was so glad we went together instead.

My dh and I went on Friday evening. It was FANTASTIC! I agree...there needs to be more movies like this for families. It was such an inspiration to my dh. If and when a resource comes out like the Love Dare with Fireproof, dh has already said he wants to have the Resolution on our wall. This will probably be one we buy when it comes out on DVD.

Ack, you're making me envious - I want to go see the movie but have to drive an hour since it's not playing locally. Maybe next weekend. It sounds amazing!

Lindsey, I know there is a book for the movie. Not sure if it's like Love Dare was to Fireproof, but it might be worth checking out.

There is a book/devotional out called "The Resolution". They have one for men and one for women. There is also a book called "Courageous" but I think it's more about the why behind the movie. Here at my local christian store they have a framed Resolution for the fathers to sign and hang in their home too!
