Is there a way to have a report made by date? Like a journal entry. Example: Feb 1, 2011 would show notes, all or specific children, and the subjects covered that day. Therefore at the end of the year I could make a report of the 180 days of school covered. Or what ever number of days I wanted. Thank you much for helping me find my way through this

We don't have a report that does that yet, but it's a great idea. I'm going to add it to our short list.
So right now our detail report is in this format:
Subject
Name of Resource
Worked on 01/04/2011: Chapter 21, "Chapter title"
Finished on 01/04/2011: Chapter 14, "Chapter title"
So what if we made a similar report but in this format?
Date
Subject
Worked on Name of Resource, Chapter 21, "Chapter title"
Finished Name of Resource, Chapter 14, "Chapter title"
Would it ever be useful to show more than one child mixed within a report like this or would it be limited to one child at a time?
Sonya and I just discussed this and we do think it would be useful to have the option to run this report for one or any number of children. How's this for a format?

A more compact option could be something like below, but it wouldn't be as easy to see resource titles at a glance within the larger of larger amount of text.

I'm wondering about the goal of this report - ie is it to provide a snapshot for a visiting-teacher evaluation, used to show progress in a portfolio, etc? I'm guessing from the other current thread on the forum that what is needed is not only an organizational tool but one with reporting capabilities that would satisfy the school system's requirements as well.

that would be very helpful! i personally think the second, more compact report is easier to read...
i like that it also breaks it down by subject. for those of us who have to count hours, we can get an idea of how many hours to count for history on a given day by knowing if johnny worked on or finished said project on that day.

Richele, We would be interested in hearing more about what kind of reports would be helpful for meeting requirements. It's different from state to state so it's always helpful to know what everyone has to deal with.

Wow, that is exactly what I was trying to explain!! That would be super helpful for us here in PA. We need to log our days with the books used each day. So the 2nd more compact one is perfect, for 1 or more children. If there is a way also to have "notes" included too., For the days the unscheduled happens. I LOVE it. Thank you so much for considering this,

Okay, this is officially on the short list of things we'll add to the Organizer. I can't promise when it will be ready because we're in the middle of a somewhat large enhancement right now. We'll try to squeeze it in as soon as we can, though.
Please let us know when you do. I have held off using the organizer mostly because I didn't see how I could use it to track hours. As soon as this feature is available, I think I'll make the leap. Thanks!
