Who else has started this or has read this? My kids are LOVING this so far! Actually, so am I and dh as well. I have to admit, though, that when we were doing AO I didn't mind that the books were spread out because I was so busy bouncing between kids I just didn't have time to think about it. Now that I'm reading them read-alouds and we're together again for school (which they adore, by the way) it is driving me mad to have to wait until the next week to get to read it again! So here's my guilty secret.
We're not waiting! I'm not pushing through as quickly as we would like to at times, but we're not doing it as slowly as recommended either. I can't help it! It's just so much fun to read these books together!

Oooh can't wait to get to that book. We've only just read the first chapter of Letters From Egypt, and I actually teared up a little when the author was saying how 'the Bible doesn't need to proven by secular historians, but isn't it neat when it does'...something along those lines. Anyway, I can already tell this is going to be a good one too! Thanks for getting me looking forward to what's ahead!

My boys loved this book when they read it two years ago. They read some every day, instead of every week because it was soo good!

AngieG, we're really loving Letters From Egypt as well! My littles don't get as much out of this, perhaps, as my bigs do, but even the littles get something. I love how it's written, how she draws on Scripture throughout her letters without feeling like it's just stuck in there, but with real meaning. Know what I mean?
Of course Boy of the Pyramids is just a great book so far with a story line that you can dive right into and lots of information at the same time. I could have had my big boys read this on their own, but we seem to be leaning towards doing Module 1 together as a family and then having them read literature selections on their own.

We love it too! I found another one along the same idea as Boy of the Pyramids at the library called Once Upon a Time in Egypt by Frances Kent Gere. I am reading both aloud this semester since we like them too. =) I have to admit that I pre-read them before bed one night.

We loved it too. When I finished reading it aloud my oldest wanted to reread it himself. We didn't enjoy letters from Egypt nearly as much. I ended up reading smaller portions, but my children are still young.
