Thanks for explaining about Jonathon Parks. I do have vol. 1 still in the wrapper. Then I'll need to buy some more to fill in the gaps. I'll have to wait until the next sale at Vision Forum. So, we will try again from the beginning this time.
I have ds7 sit on toilet at home and stand in public restrooms. He was standing but we got tired of the awful mess every time!

bookworm...i just read your post, missed it earlier--LOL...in my dreams! and you'd think the girls might could share one--they don't have problems like this right!?!...dd is 7...no way not yet...she came out of the bathroom today covering herself up...I said what happened to your skirt and panties. She looked sheepish...they got pee on them. I said in a calm voice (a pat on the back here) and how did they get pee on them? Apparently, she was trying to watch the pee and it arced out and wet her clothes. Lovely. I tried to gently (without any unneccessary SCREAMING) explain that ladies don't sit like THAT on the toliet! Yikes. She can share with the boys. Now I am not so sure all the pee at the base is from them!

Wow I thought the bathroom issues were only at my house! I have a four year old son and nothing makes me madder than cleaning the bathroom so well and then coming in 5 minutes later and there's pee on the base of the toilet! Hwo does it get down there anyway? He says...I'm sorry mom, it's hard sometimes. :) I share a bathroom with my hubby and I swear sometimes it's the same thing, though I think his problem is the same as another poster.....being so far from the bowl. My mother in law raised 2 boys and she says it comes with the territory. But the smell......yuck! I could clean twice a day in there if I had time!

i'm a bad bad mama
i have yet to teach them to pee standing up --the 4 y/o and 2 y/o both still sit!
my thought has been---are you kidding?

maybe it is the vision i have from my childhood of walking in and finding my brother standing on one twin bed and my cousin standing on the other which was across the room parallel to the first. They had their equipment out and were having a pee war! I ran from the room screaming for my mom and my aunt--absolutely fastidiously horrified!

I will get around to it...soon probably with the 4y/o.
so think...that pee on the wall was forgetting to TUCK! and proabably fascination at the arc it made!

the base of the toliet is not tucking far enough! then it seeps through the bowl and the seat...and pools on the floor.

directional capabilities in my conqueror two year old would bury me!

This thread is hilarious!

For some reason I never even thought to try vinegar!? What a great idea. I've been using clorox by the bucket load and it still smells like a public restroom. And I would REALLY like to use something a little more gentle anyway.

My dh finally got fed up with my boys peeing all over the floor and decided to make the worst couple of offenders sit at night until they could, er, AIM. :)

Somehow it still ends up on the walls and the base (??). But sitting at night helps.

I am potty training my 4th boy now and let me tell you, it took him all of one day to figure out his new directional capabilities. Spraying the wall is just too much fun when you're three years old. :)

I count it as one of the greatest events of my life that I was at last able to move into a new house with TWO bathrooms. Really, some people dream of House Beautiful, all I wanted is TWO bathrooms. It can be a dump, but I'm so outnumbered here that it is my dream home if it has a bathroom for ME . . . and a bathroom for THEM. LOL All my guys seem to have trouble although they all blame it on one of the other ones. My youngest seems to have poor aim and my two older boys seem to be up so high above that something happens on the way down! LOL Dh has floated the possibility of builiding urinals in the bathroom and put one WAY up high for my 6" and over crowd!

Well, I only have a couple minutes before another crazy day REALLY starts to roll but I wanted to chime in really quick because...um...we have bathroom issues here as well. My ds is almost 7 and I have come into the bathroom in the morning and stepped in a puddle right BESIDE the toilet! Peeing in the dark...not a great idea for the little fellas! He told me this when I asked him about it,. " well, I can't see at night and I am TIRED! I can't SEE where it's going!". To which my dh replied, "you should always hear a splash, though! If you don't hear a splash then you're in the wrong spot!". All I could think was " maybe you should just sit down to go! At least until we can give you some pee-shooting lessons!". I would get him to clean it up but am very afraid of what would get left behind! LOL! I did hear of some mom putting cheerios into the toilet to give something to aim at for the littler guys. I had hoped that this issue would get better with age but my husband's comment sorta took that hope away! Do they REALLY go by SOUND in the middle of the night?!?! And my dh is actually a very clean and hygenic fellow! What would it be like with a guy who wasn't?!?! I mean, c'mon, A SPLASH!

Kay, gotta go clean my bathrooms...again!

LOL! I totally agree w/ the potty issue! UGGH, the smell is so gross! And thanks for the tips on how to clean around it! I have been using like a clorox wipe to scrub around! It does not work!

As for Jonathan Park, we love them! Yes, definitely start at the beginning! They go in order! :)

Also, will have to tell a story later! Everyone have a blessed day!

All this talk about boys and bathrooms has reminded me of the chore I have waiting for me when I get home from the office -- you'd think a toilet would be a pretty decent size target, especially for a four-foot tall child. I hate house work!
