Suggestions for What to Teach
Though we used Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing software, we realize that more typing programs are available each year. Look for a program that reinforces good finger position, increases speed incrementally, and doesn’t use twaddle for typing practice.

How to Teach
With consistent practice, a student can learn to type and increase his speed and accuracy. Don’t overlook this important skill in our computer-saturated world. While we don’t recommend typing lessons for children younger than eight, you can still assign it to children older than listed below. Remember to keep lessons short.
