If you are thinking about organizing an event that will feature an SCM Workshop, here are more details to help with your planning.
Workshops
All workshops include notes and pens, plus a Q&A session. Time estimates are minimums. So a 1-hour workshop may go for 90 minutes, depending on the number of questions and comments discussed. If you have time constraints, I will happily try to work within them.
Event Organizer’s Responsibilities
- Advertise the event.
- Reserve a meeting room with ample space and sufficient seating for the number of people attending.
- Provide a microphone and sound system if the room is large enough to require one.
- Provide beverages and cups for attendees. Other refreshments are fine, but not necessary.
- Provide two six-foot or eight-foot tables for our display with an electrical outlet nearby.
- Welcome attendees and register any walk-ins.
Note: The event organizer receives free admission to the event and a free e-book of her choice from Simply Charlotte Mason.
Workshop Fees
Below are the fees I usually charge for our various events.
Per Person Fee
- One-hour workshops—$6 per person
- Two-hour workshops—$10 per person
- Half-day seminars—$20 per person (Select any three 1-hour workshops OR one 2-hour and one 1-hour workshops from the Workshops List)
- Full-day seminars—$35 per person
Depending on how far we have to travel, we calculate a minimum number of people who need to attend in order to cover our travel expenses and time involved. Please contact me and let me know the details about the event you’re thinking about or planning. I’d be happy to work with you.
A Personal Note from Sonya: I would be delighted to present any of our workshops or seminars to your group! Now, I’ll admit right up front that I don’t like asking for money. However, I also realize that every speaking engagement takes time away from my family, and I believe that the information and equipping that you will receive in our workshops is quite valuable. The fees given above are comparable with a local sewing shop’s quilting classes and are less expensive than a local park district’s recreational classes, so I think they are fair. Thanks for understanding.
