We love Charlotte Mason’s emphasis on the child as a person. As a result, we feel uncomfortable with the one-size-fits-all mentality that comes with most “curriculum in a box.” We think the child’s mother-teacher should determine how quickly each child should proceed through a selected book, based on that child as an individual.

Looks like the survey respondents feel the same way. When we asked them to rank the features of our on-line tool, the top pick was “Allow you to proceed at each child’s individual pace.”

So when you select a book (or other resource) in SimplyCharlotteMason and connect it to a student, you’ll be able to set a preferred pace. You can decide how many chapters or lessons you want to cover per week. And even on which days of the week you want to use that book (since the second highest pick on the survey was “Allow you to customize your weekly plan around your family schedule”).

No two families are the same, no two children are the same, and at SimplyCharlotteMason no two curriculums will be the same. (We’re thinking outside the box.)

Update as of 3/1/07: We’re happy to announce that the CM Organizer is now online and it allows you to work at your own pace.
